Cookie Policy

Last updated:

This Cookie Policy explains how HustlePop and related SideHustleX properties use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies when you browse our marketing websites, use the merchant-facing App, or interact with storefront experiences the App powers.

It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle personal data more broadly.

1. What are cookies and similar technologies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Local storage and session storage are related browser mechanisms that let a site remember settings between visits or during a session. Pixels or tags are tiny snippets that help us understand whether a page loaded successfully or whether a campaign link was used.

We use these technologies only for the purposes described below. They are not used to run unrelated advertising networks on your storefront without your configuration.

2. Where we use them

2.1 HustlePop marketing website

When you visit pages such as this site, we may set cookies or store minimal preferences needed to keep the site secure, remember basic UI choices, and measure aggregate reliability (for example, whether assets loaded correctly).

2.2 Merchant admin and App surfaces

When you or your staff sign in through Shopify to configure popups, we rely on session mechanisms required to authenticate requests, protect against cross-site abuse, and keep editor state consistent while you work.

2.3 Storefront popups and app embed

On a merchant’s storefront, the App may use local storage or cookies to remember display rules you configure (for example, frequency caps, dismissal state, or A/B assignment) so popups behave as intended for shoppers. The merchant controls which experiences are published.

3. Types of cookies we use

CategoryPurpose
Strictly necessarySecurity, load balancing, session continuity, and core App functionality.
FunctionalRemember popup dismissal, editor preferences, or merchant-selected display rules.
Analytics (limited)Understand aggregate usage or diagnose errors on our own properties. We do not sell cookie data.

4. Third parties

Shopify may set cookies when you authenticate or manage the App inside Shopify Admin. Infrastructure providers (such as hosting and CDN partners) may process connection logs that include cookie headers as part of delivering the service.

If we add a third-party analytics or support tool to our marketing site, we will describe it here or in an updated notice and link to the provider’s privacy documentation where required.

5. Your choices

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent parts of the App or website from working correctly.

Merchants can adjust popup frequency and targeting in the App to reduce repeat prompts for shoppers. Shoppers can also clear site data through their browser for a specific store domain.

Where regional law requires a consent banner for non-essential cookies on our marketing site, we will present controls consistent with that law.

6. Retention

Session cookies expire when you close your browser. Persistent cookies and local storage entries remain until they reach their configured expiry, you clear them, or you uninstall the App and associated storefront data is removed in line with our Privacy Policy.

7. Changes

We may update this Cookie Policy when our practices or applicable law change. We will update the “Last updated” date and provide additional notice for material changes when practical.
